Your agreement is with us, AWN. Please read these Terms and Conditions to help you understand our responsibilities to you, and your responsibilities to us.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between AWN (“Us”, “We”, “Our”) and You when You pay for a membership with us and / or use our centres.
These Terms tell you who we are, how we will provide services to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem and other important information.
AWN centres include (but are not limited to) theatre, cinema, town hall, community centres, gyms, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor sports, coached sessions, activity play centres, extreme sports, climbing and other facilities.
There may be additional Terms and Rules and Regulations which apply to individual centres, activities, online facilities or groups and you should familiarise yourself with these and read them carefully.
Terms may be generic in which case these Terms will apply to all customers, however some of the Terms will only apply to specific members, memberships or activities and may not be relevant to all customers.
By using our centres or signing into any membership agreement, you understand, accept and will adhere to Our Terms and any additional specific Terms and Rules and Regulations.

Do you have changing rooms & showers?
Our sports centre’s at Downham, Lynnsport, Oasis and St James have changing areas available:
Downham
Poolside – individual unisex changing cubicles and 2 gender specific group changing areas. Larger changing cubicles are available for families.
Dryside – gender specific group changing areas including an individual cubicle in each.
Showers are available in both poolside and dryside areas.
Disabled shower and changing facilities are available.
Lynnsport
Gender specific changing rooms with group changing and individual cubicles and shower facilities.
Disabled shower and changing facilities are available.
Oasis
Poolside – individual unisex changing cubicles. Larger changing cubicles are available for families.
Dryside – gender specific group changing areas with individual cubicles.
Showers are available in both poolside and dryside areas.

How much do lockers cost?
Lockers are available as below, if the venue isn’t listed then unfortunately we don’t have locker facilities available.

£1 coin that is refundable.
Male changing rooms are coded lockers with instructions on the lockers.
Downham
Poolside lockers are a 20p piece which is non-refundable.
Dryside changing room locker keys are available to reception and you’ll be required to leave your Alive Card as a deposit.
Oasis
Poolside lockers are a 20p piece which is non-refundable.
Dryside changing rooms are a £1 coin that is refundable.
St James
Poolside and Dryside changing room lockers are a 20p piece which is non-refundable.
How much does it cost?

Can we request / how do we apply for a charity donation?
We will always try where possible to help out local charities and fundraising events with donations of our services. If you email us at enquiries@alivewestnorfolk.co.uk we will look into your request and let you know if we can help in any way – it is important to remember that as much as we would love to, we may not be able to donate to every cause / request that we receive.
What holiday activities do you do?
We offer an amazing range of holiday activities during school holidays, when our programmes are released, you can view our programmes here and make bookings here.
What time do the buses run to your centre / what public transport can I use to get to you?
Public transport times and routes are set out by the individual operators – you should always check the latest travel advice with the travel operator before travelling. You can find out more information on our nearest bus routes / stops below, with useful links:

Get to town 4 bus route (Lynnsport/Grange Estate Stop).
Downham
37 and then a 14 minute (0.7 miles) walk to Downham.
Oasis
The closest stop is Hunstanton Tesco (Lynx 34/35/36 bus route) and then it is a 5 minute (0.2 miles) walk to Oasis.
St James
King’s Lynn Bus Station and then a 5 minute (0.2 miles) walk.
Corn Exchange
King’s Lynn Bus Station and then a 13 minute (0.6 mile) walk.
Town Hall/Stories of Lynn

Do you have free parking?
All of our venues have parking and disable parking facilities available, but please bear in mind when venues get busy the car parks can become full and you may need to find alternative parking. Some of our venues have free parking available and where these are provided you may only use them when using that venue.

Lynnsport
Free parking is available on centre grounds.
Downham
Free parking is available on centre grounds (please do not use Downham Market Academy school parking facilities).
Oasis
Parking is chargeable at Oasis unless you have an active contracted membership and are using the facilities.
Free parking for contracted members
Free parking is available if you use the South Promenade car park. When you register at reception please let them know you need to register for parking – if you don’t you will be liable for any charges incurred.
Parking for all other customers
Information on all Borough Council car parks in Hunstanton can be found here – the car park closest to Oasis is the ‘South Prom’.
St James
Parking is chargeable at St James excluding between 6-8.30am if you an active contacted membership and are using the facilities.
Free parking for contracted members
Free parking is available if you use the Blackfriars Street car park directly outside the centre. When you register at reception please let them know you need to register for parking – if you don’t you will be liable for any charges incurred (this doesn’t include the Multi-storey car park).
Parking for all other customers
Information on all Borough Council car parks in King’s Lynn can be found here – the car parks closest to St James are the ‘Blackfriars Street’ and ‘St James Multi-storey’.
Corn Exchange
Parking is chargeable, information on all Borough Council car parks in King’s Lynn can be found here – the car parks closest to the Corn Exchange are the ‘Tuesday Market Place’ and ‘Common Staithe Quay’.

I’ve had money taken from my account but I haven’t used any of your centre’s – I need a refund?
We’re sorry to hear something doesn’t look quite right.
The first thing we ask customers to check is whether they have purchased tickets or visited the Corn Exchange or Corn Exchange Cinema. These transactions appear on bank statements as Alive West Norfolk, which can sometimes be mistaken for a charge from one of our sports centres (Lynnsport, Downham, Oasis, or St James). However, purchases made at the Corn Exchange venues also appear under this name.
If this is not the case and you still believe money has been taken from your account incorrectly, please email us at enquiries@alivewestnorfolk.co.uk and we will investigate further.
When contacting us, please include your full name, date of birth, and the amount taken from your account. Please do not include any bank account details. If we need any additional information, we will contact you.

Do I need to book for swimming?
Our public swimming sessions (i.e. general; public; lane etc.) are turn-up and pay as long as the sessions are open and haven’t reached maximum capacity. During the school holiday’s especially, we do tend to get busy across our centre’s so you can always call before you come to check how busy we are and whether any admission restrictions are in place as we do sometimes have to operate a ‘1-in 1-out’ system.

Is there disabled access?
Downham, Lynnsport, Oasis & St James
All of our sports centres have disabled access – ramps to entrance areas and if there is more than one level, lifts/platform lifts are provided. Disabled toilet and changing areas are available.
At our swimming pools, hoists are available for assisting access into the pools.

Do you have a slide?
Our Oasis swimming pool has a slide that is open during general swimming sessions on the half hour for 20 minutes (providing staff are available). For more information please call Oasis on 01485 534227.
Fitness
What classes do you offer?
cross our four Alive Sports Centres, we’ve got you covered with over 120 fitness classes! Our classes are for 16yrs and over (but we do provide some classes for younger ages and family friendly classes). You can book from our classes timetable which should have all the information you need.
How can I book a class?
We encourage and prefer our classes to be booked online as this is the easiest method. However you can also book in-centre by popping in or calling us on the numbers below:

Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance and payment must be made on booking.
Do I have to book for the gym?
For those aged 16yrs and above, you don’t have to book to come and use the gym – you can just turn-up and pay as long as the sessions are open and haven’t reached maximum capacity.
Children aged 8-15yrs at Lynnsport, Downham & Oasis are required to book. We encourage and prefer junior fitness sessions to be booked online as this is the easiest way to book, but you can book in centre by popping in or calling us on the numbers below:

Do you do Personal Training / one-to-one sessions?
Yes we do Personal Training sessions and this is the perfect way to start or make progress on your fitness wellness journey and will help to support, motivate, educate and inspire you to achieve your health and wellness goals whatever they might be. Payments
How can I pay my invoice?
All the information you need to pay your invoice will be on the back (page 2) of your invoice.
Online
You can pay online here. Click on the ‘Pay A Bill’ section of our home page. You will need to quote your customer ID and invoice number. Payments are made via a secure server and you will be emailed your receipt details.
BACS
You can pay via BACS:

In Person

How do I cancel my membership / course?
As long as you’re out of your initial membership contract terms, you can cancel your membership or courses through your Client Portal, using the ‘My Memberships’ section.

Can I cancel my membership early?
We do consider early cancellation of memberships where there are exceptional circumstances or a change in circumstances and supporting evidence of this circumstance / change is supplied (for example you have a medical condition, injury or illness meaning you are no longer able to use our centre’s on an ongoing basis).

Unfortunately we don’t allow transferring of memberships, but if you are having problems with your membership, give us a call on 01553 818007 and we’ll do our best to help you.
How do you apply for an Alive Card?
You can apply for most of our Alive Card’s either online here, by popping in to your local Alive Centre or calling us on the numbers below.
If you’re applying for one of our Alive Concession Cards, this can only be done by visiting our Centre’s as you’ll need to bring in proof of your concession entitlement (you can find out more about this here (INSERT LINK) or the section below).

How much does an Alive Card cost?
Our Alive Card scheme is available for anyone living in the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk. Our current prices are as follows:
- Single Adult Alive Card (19yrs+) – £26
- Joint Adult Alive Card (19yrs+) – £45
- Junior Alive Card (4-18yrs) – £10
- Tots Alive Card (1-3yrs) – Free
- Tiny Tots Alive Card (under 12 months) – Free
- Alive Concession Cards – Free
Can I get a refund as I haven’t used my membership?
Unfortunately in line we don’t offer refunds due to not using your members, but if you are having problems with your membership give us a call on 01553 818007 and we’ll do our best to help you.
Can I get a discount because I work for a certain company?
We offer a corporate membership to selected partners as listed below:

Do you do student discounts?
Unfortunately we don’t do membership discounts for students, but we do offer an Alive Concession Card free of charge for those eligible, including full time students 18yrs and over. Our membership offering also provides concession agreements at the same price as our standard agreements, which give further concessionary discounts to other activities in our sports centres. Can I change my Direct Debit date?
Unfortunately not – we only do a Direct Debit collection / date of the 1st of the month.
I’m moving, can I use my membership elsewhere?
Your membership covers you for usage of all four sports centre’s listed below:
- Lynnsport – King’s Lynn (PE30 2NB)
- St James – King’s Lynn (PE30 1NN)
- Downham – Downham Market (PE38 9LL)
- Oasis – Hunstanton (PE36 5BD)
The only exclusion to this is our Biocircuits offering which is only available at Lynnsport. If you are moving anywhere else than what is listed above then unfortunately you won’t be able to use your membership with us there.
Can I reinstate my membership?
We’ll always be more than happy to help you get your membership restarted again, but it may not be at the same price and agreement as you had with us in the past. How do I cancel a booking?

Corn Exchange & Corn Exchange Cinema
Unfortunately we can’t refund or exchange tickets, returned tickets will only be offered for resale when the venue is sold out at a handling fee of £1.

What do your centres look like?
We try our hardest to have everything available online, so please try using our search bar to search for the activity and seeing if there are pictures online for you. If not, please email us at enquiries@alivewestnorfolk.co.uk and we’ll do our best to help you.
Can I come in and see what the facility looks like?
Of course, we’d be more than happy for you to come in and look around. You can always just pop in during our opening times and as long as someone is available and the areas aren’t being hired out we’ll be more than happy to show you around.
